Since Corrales he has moved up in weight, beaten Castillo twice, Jesus Chavez for WBC Lightweight Title, Victoriano Sosa,
Phillip N'dou, DeMarcus Corley(gate keeper), none of which have bad records.

What, so I appreciate the pageantry and the entertainment value of the Prince. I love it how I am martyred for my willingness to say and do whatever I feel is me, regardless of the consequences. You never hear me say he was the greatest fighter of all time or anything, so why do you have to defend Mayweather by questioning the fighters I like. If Mayweather is as good a fighter as you say he is, it shouldn't matter that I am a fan of The Prince.

i guess the biggest differents between me and you guys outlook on corrales is that i look at the first pbf/corrales fight as a fluke. it wasnt on a level playing field. corrales was beat before he got in the ring. he knew he was going to prison. he knew that the money for this fight was court ordered to go to his girlfriend/wife. he couldnt train properly. we need another matchup.

I feel generally the same thing internally, but in boxing there are no excuses. The fight was not fixed, both passed drug tests, Mayweather deserves credit for the victory, even if in my soul I feel it was tainted.

It's utterly ****** to say I questioned Mayweather's skills, given the first line in the initial post in the thread:

"Floyd Mayweather Jr. was the most gifted fighter to come out of the 1996 Olympics, hands down."

So where the hell you are getting this, I don't know.

I simply like The Prince's flashiness and pizzaz, as well as his resemblance to the star of my favorite show, Ali G. I like the guy, but I don't think he is one of the all time greats.

Winky Wright just beat Mosley twice and Felix Trinidad. Kostya Tszyu has beaten Sharmba Mitchell twice, Zab Judah, and ruled his division for 10 years. Bernard Hopkins has beaten Felix Trinidad, Oscar De La Hoya, defended the middleweight title 20 times, and is taking on Jermain Taylor soon. Floyd Mayweather has beaten Corrales and an overrated Chicanito named Genaro Hernandez. Should've lost to Castillo the first time. And in between fights, he stays busy smacking around his baby mamas.

If weight/size wasn't a factor his skills & style would beat anyone.
Excuses, he's got so many guys around him, why not fight the better ones? You say beating Gatti will make him popular? It's done wonders for Manfredy and Ivan Robinson.

Why does the things someone does outside of the ring matter?
He wants to be a main stream star, and why would that matter? The sport has such great PR as it is, with ring deaths and Las Vegas decisions, that having a baby mama beating, America's Most Wanted candidate as it's Michael Jordan or it's Tiger Woods would be the remedy boxing needs. Come on, come on! I know you are smarter than that. Thats why I love you!
I didn't feel like saying everything again. He hasn't been fighting the top flight guys in recent years, as evidenced by his last 4 opponents and his scheduled bout with Arturo Gatti. He gives the sport a bad image by beating women, assaulting bouncers, and generally being a bad person. He is a braggart who lacks the credentials, not the skills, to back up his taunting of his opponents. He is simply a black eye for the sport.

I recently got done reading a terrible article in Boxing Digest in which the writer does an article that was tantamount to oral sex on the former 2 division champion. In it they claim that Mayweather is the p4p champ because Hopkins is too boring. As boring as Hopkins is, Mayweather makes "The Executioner" look like Arturo Gatti.
Floyd Mayweather hasn't fought decent opposition in nearly 3 years, since taking 2 close decisions against Jose Luis Castillo. His last 4 fights in those 3 years have been against Victoriano Sosa, Philip N'Dou, Demarcus Corley, and an inexplicable opponent in Henry Bruseles. He is scheduled to fight Arturo "Thunder" Gatti for the meaningless WBC Super Lightweight belt on HBO PPV.
Where Mayweather has erred is he has admitted that he doesn't fight good opposition. On a recent FNF interview, he claimed that Arturo "Thunder" Gatti is a "C+ fighter". If thats the case, why would the "p4p king" be fighting C+ fighters?
Floyd Mayweather Jr. has long wondered why he isn't a main stream star as well as an attraction in the sport. Maybe the answers lie in the fact that he is an arrogant ******* who fights "C+" fighters, beats women, and doesn't pay child support, all while being terribly disrespectful to his opponents.
In my opinion, Floyd Mayweather Jr. is a disgrace to the sport, and it's honorable traditions and history.
This is an even better quote.
