A lot of fighters have taken time off and have come back to continue fighting the best fighters. If it were a hiatus of over 2-3 yrs, then it's understandable. But Floyd was already in full swing training by May of '09 (being the original date was in July) until his "injury" occurred. So all together, we're looking at 15 months of being away totally from competing and full fledged training (which constitutes heavily into his overall fighting condition).

I'm not going to make a huge fuss about him fighting Marquez because I don't enjoy beating dead horses, but I think he could've made a bigger statement coming back and fighting Shane (who at the time was still riding cloud 9 from his KO of Marg) in his comeback fight. But May 1st is marked on the calendar, so we shall see what transpires.

not to mention, roach was so confident they could be floyd but they wanted him fresh out of retirement...*******.

floyd got his tune up, roach then wanted the fight in march, floyd agreed then the cowards tucked tail and ran.

he fought marquez in september, and he's fighting mosley 9 months later.....is it really that big of a deal? you talking like dude waited 3 years...

also, when floyd told ellerbe to start fielding offers for a return bout, he got an offer of 8 million to fight shane mosley. he got 15 for marquez, which was also an easier fight.

so you are going to be the first to say mosley was over the hill after floyd schools him im guessing

Right, so instead, they fight Miguel Cotto...a Welterweight Mayweather never fought who's fought the best in the division for the past 3 yrs. Contracts were already signed for Pac vs Mayweather until the whole testing fiasco got blown out of proportion. How is Pacquiao at fault? Even the execs at HBO stated in several publications that the "Mayweathers were acting as if they wanted to sabotage the fight", and HBO is "Mayweather's Home" isn't it?

It's old news already though, what's done is done and we finally got the fight in May, all we can do is wait now and enjoy.

right b/c cotto was a tougher fight than mayweather would've been.

fact is, cotto was a beaten up fighter who also had to make a lighter weight, and these are roach's own words.

it was also stated that the clause for the drug testing was in the contracts from the beginning, it wasn't something drummed up at the last minute, as you seem to think. top rank just didn't make it a big deal until the contracts were ready to be signed.

agreeing to a ridiculous clause of paying 10 mil for every pound you come in, over a weight you have never failed to make, shows you are trying to "sabotage" a fight?

i'm sure floyd thought to himself, if i ask manny to take random blood tests, that's a way i can get outta the fight....but i'll accept his terms and neogtiate with him on mine.

come on dude, you can do better than this.

U got me confused with someone else partna,I ain't gonna have to say Mosley was over the hill for nothing!!I know Mosley is the toughest fight Floyd has ever taken,he's beaten better fighters & lost to better fighters!!He has more experience & it will show when they fight, every fool that thinks Floyd beats Mosley easily will have excuses not me,believe that!!A fat lightweight doesn't get U ready for a welterweight like Shane homey!!
