It's obviously a huge fight that can be marketed extremely well(especially in Europe), and it poses as an easy win against a former title holder for Vitali. A win proves once again that his resume(along with Wlad's) are miles ahead of anyone else in the division.
I was actually excited about this fight. A KO win over the giant would be AMAZING. Valuev brought down the division so much that I'm really glad that Haye ended his "reign" and that he can now fade into obscurity.
Screw Valuev for turning this down. I hope he enjoys his circus career after he retires because he'll need the money.Last edited by ADozenArrows; 02-26-2010, 04:31 PM.Comment

Wow, 2.5 million and still doesnt accept? That's crap. Someone said something about Vitali fighting Povetkin. Well, he is considering this already as well as Solis. I think the reason he's considering Solis is because he wants to fight real soon and Povetkin has another fight lined up already on March 13 and is also Wladimir's mandatory -- so there may be a problem trying to get negotiations moving along quickly whereas with Solis they might happen fast. Solis also beat David Haye back in the 2001 World Championships so this might be something Vitali is thinking as to give him a mental edge or promotional value ahead of a showdown with Haye.Comment

Theres no value in fighting Valuev, especially for 4 million, **** him. Vital should fight somebody elese. He shouldn't wait for Haye cause Haye is probably going to wait for him to retire anyway, the safest route for him. This is why Vitali didn't unify the belts last year, because Valuevs ***** ass wouldn't fight him.Comment

As well as being a big money fight, a devastating win for Vitali against Valuev would put Haye's very narrow win over Valuev into perspective, which would weaken Haye's position in any negotiations to fight Vitali.
Still, I don't understand why Vitali has wasted so much time on these negotiations - he should just fight Povetkin.Comment

I concur, i believe Valuev doesn't want to get hurt b/c that is exactly what would happen!!!I'm not all that satisfied with what Haye did to Valuev. Infact, I was only happy that he got the win against that giant piece of crap. Atleast Vitali would put a serious beating on Valuev. So...I REALLY REALLY want to see this. Can't believe he rejected this offer.Comment
