Yup, I got his fight with Baldomir on the same playlist as the Barrera Morales, and Gatti Ward trilogies.Comment

Funny how you change the definition of boxing to fit your agenda to say Floyds not skilled.
Boxing = Hit and not get hit.Comment

Yes it is. Why would you pay to see a guy fight and constantly complain when YOU know what you get when Floyd fights? Makes no sense to me.streaming? why the hell would anyone want to watch streaming boxing?
i've only watched streaming fights when it's not available on u.s. tv.
didn't i say i didn't buy the baldomir fight? didn't i say i only bought jmm because my dad came over and wanted to see it?
you swear like all of floyd's fights are on ppv. you swear everyone buys ppv to watch him. ever think i bought floyd's fights to root for oscar and ricky? or to see zab get his ass kicked?
i have hbo and showtime to watch boxing. i order all the major ppv's.
just because i'm willing to spend money doesn't me i don't have the right to complain.
to say "you bought it , you can't complain" is the dumbest thing i have ever heard.
I can not watch Wlad fight to save my life. So I have NEVER bought one of his fights EVER.
Why would I watch the same TV show that doesnt meet my standards over and over?? Why would I keep watching it and keep complaining about it.Last edited by B.U.R.N.E.R; 02-26-2010, 01:18 AM.Comment

I just admire the guys skills, I started watching boxing when i was a kid in the '90s and Felix Tito Trinidad, Lennox Lewis, and Oscar De la hoya were all my favorite fighters. In the early 2000's I was a big fan of Zab Judah, at the time I knew who Mayweather was but hadn't really payed much attention to him until the fight with Judah. That's when I became a fan, because in that fight you saw how well he adjusted, it was like Judah started off playing checkers but then Mayweather pulled out the chess board. I especially liked how he would throw the lead right hand, lay on Judah and then as he returned to his stance he would smack Judah with a left hook, and Judah never caught on.
But I love watching the second Castillo fight because you could tell that Mayweather felt like he had something to prove and he broke him down and he was killing Castillo with those jabs to the body and then later lead straight right hands one right after the other.
The Baldomir fight is also one of my favorites. In that fight Mayweather didn't even have a trainer and broke his hand. Nonetheless, it was still like watching Picaso painting on a canvas, yea it was kind of boring in terms of action, but those counters especially the counter right hand short upper-cuts that he was smacking him with were amazing. Lastly, the Hatton fight was also good because Mayweather showed alot of versatility in that fight. He was right in front of Hatton's face, actually in his grill for most of the fight and Hatton could only land glancing blows at best the whole fight.
But I like Mayweather's style of fighting "Make'em miss and make'em pay" because that is what my trainer always tells me.Comment

But that's the thing though, Mayweather always out lands his opponents (with the exception of the first Castillo fight). So he would fit your definition of "hitting your opponent more times than he hits you." I know what you mean and you feel he could be more offensive but Mayweather is smart. When he boxes he slows down the fight, and this ensures that any punch landed will definitely stand out. Likewise, when his opponent misses it is more dramatic because it is made clear and makes his opponents look foolish at times. More often than not, Mayweather is landing the cleaner and harder blows in a given round, so even though he doesn't throw alot, his punches stand out in the minds of the judges.Comment

Against fighters who actually have a chance, absolutely. To watch a fighter with the offensive skills to bother Mayweather, and watching Mayweather's fantastic defense neutralize that offense is great for any boxing fan.
And anyone who didn't find Mayweather exciting at 130-140 is just hating, and I'm not even a Mayweather fan.Comment
