I can accept the excuse that he didn't want to be bound to Top Rank. What I can't accept is when people pretend Baldomir was a better option than Margarito for any other reason. Margarito was the better fighter and the bigger draw.

The people who "pretended" that Baldomir was better than Margarito were the editors of Ring Magazine. They ranked Baldomir at number 1 at welterweight after he beat Zab Judah and Margarito at number three. No one had a problem with that at the time and many, including Larry Merchant and some people on this site, thought Baldomir was too strong and would beat Mayweather. They didn't start criticizing the fight until after Mayweather won it easily. Margarito couldn't draw flies then and still can't now.

i hate to agree with you.. but i have to.. vegas is dreweling for a pac/foney fight that if this fight is close.. even 8-4 in mosely.. i see it giving it to mayweather.. he's just good for tv.. bad for boxing..

and flyd had already been a ppv king? he already sold million.. if i remember correctly.. 2 ppvs at the time.. how does that make mayweather a draw?
