You would pick him over Mayweather because you're a fanboy who doesn't know anything about the sport of boxing.A fanboy, who think's that throwing non-stop pitty pat flurries is badass and slick boxing.

Perhaps you didn't watch Carlos Quintana completely expose and give Williams the beating of his life,or perhaps you missed Martinez do the exact same thing only to get screwed on the cards.

Paul Williams is quite simply a hype job.A fighter with the personality of a wet fart. His charisma and appeal so lacking that his promoters had to promote him as "the most avoided man in boxing",despite the fact that Williams is the only one doing the "avoiding" these days.

Putting people on ignore is a bitchh move.

anyways, heres how I rate him.

      Speed B
      Power B-
      Defense C+
      Ring Generalships B-
      Stamina A+
      Workrate A+
      Chin B+
      Heart A

In overall he is a B class fighter with good phisicall gift, great heart and determination. Even with his somewhat limited skills, he will beat a lot of top fighters, but not the elites. And whenever he is faced with a big Puncher is nite nite!!

No offense to you, but who you would pick him to beat means ****.

P-Will doesn't have many dimensions to him. He doesn't know how to cutoff a ring well, so he'll just follow guys running into counters. His defense isn't good, so he gets hit clean a lot.

I can see all 3 figthers mentioned beating him 8-4, Pacquiao and Moslye possibly by KO.

Pitty pat? Tell that to Martinez and Quintana. Martinez said that was the toughest fight of his career. If you actually knew my rep on this site youd know that I routinely call the most skilled fighter ever. And I dont pick anybody over him from 147-154 except Williams. Styles makes fights. Floyd does not fight ANYTHING like Quinatana or Martinez. How do I know you ask? Because Ive seen every damn fight of Floyds.

Yes Quintana beat him. I had it 7-5 Quintana. He beat Williams and showed him he had a lot to learn. He came back in the rematch and disposed of him in under 2 minutes. Quintana respected him so much he was his primary sparring partner for Martinez. Slick lefties give Paul trouble but who dont slick lefties trouble? He went out his way to fight 3 fights aginst slick southpaws. They are learning expiriences. Training camps sparring with Collazo for the Q rematch and then sparring with Q fro the Martinez fight will help him.

Yeah his chrasima is so bad that hes always in exciting fights and hes always on HBO. Hes so bad hes ranked a Top 5 p4pounder on most boxing lists. The Number 1 154 Pounder for Dzindiruks belt. The number 3 160 Pounder. Yeah he sucks ass.

hes a good fighter...just a tad one dimensional. while he'll make almost any fighter he fights look bad, he wont necessarily beat a top guy. but i rly dont think he shld be fighting in welter...if he cn fight a jr middle and middle, y does he keep coming down??

Because you think he can go up to 168 and compete with top fighters there. I even remember you saying he could be Hopkins at a catchweight of 170 if I got the weight right? But, that is what I mean another level... IMO he can give anybody hell from 147-160 and he is not unbetable in those weight-classes. But, even if he losses in those weight-classes it will not be easy. But, anything higher than what 160 that might not be the case. But, you're convinced that he can go up to 168 and not only be competitive against the top fighter but beat some. And, I think you're overrating cuz he hasn't even beat a top true MW yet for you to make that claim...

Pacquiao? Really? To be honest the most die hard of Pac fans havent said that. He has a 9 inch height advantage and a 15 inch reach advantage.

Mosley has a history with tall guys with good jabs and good chins.

Mayweather is one of my faves but he does not let those hand goes enough to beat Paul and he has nothing in his gloves to stop Paul from coming forward.

I never said 170. I said 168 he beats Hopkins. Hopkins cant make that weight safe and he is not good vs. voulume at this stage in his career. I just said in a thread today that if Paul puts on the wright correctly he can beat guys not named Bute, Dirrell or Ward but for a guy who weighed 157 Pounds for a 160 Pound fight by the time he outgrows 160 those guys will be 175 Pounders.

I think Floyd can beat Pavlik. Easily. ASt a weight class Floyd never fought at. And so do you. Its not overrating its looking at styles. Right now no point in talking about 168 because he wont be there for another 4-5 years.

You just compared Margaito to Williams. Margarito has fast hands and a jab now news to me. He can fight on the inside? News to me.

Anywho Moskley said himself "I'll fight anybody but him our styles dont match up well".
