and do you think that this plays a major part in why American fighters feel no need to go and compete in Europe were there is great competition ?

I personally think Dirrell clearly won the fight, but that just my opinion and not what I'm trying to make the thread about.

Well, in light of what we've seen I can't argue with Dirrell for feeling that way. The fight wasn't even close. Froch is a tough nut and Dirrell couldn't physically push the fight, if he did it would be a KO. The problem is, he still outboxed Froc for 12 rounds and noone should give Froch more than 2 rounds that fight.

I thought Dirrell won to but I guess that's the risk you take fighting someone in their hometown in another country. You have to win by KO

Yeah thats what im saying, I think that decicions like this is what makes american fighters stay in the US and the reason European fighters have to come to the US.

Im sure some people would argue that its the same with European fighters coming to the US, but the times situations like this have happened 90% of time its in Europe.

There is nothing in Europe. That's why America is the dream of every individual on the face of this earth.

Naw we don't screw fighters from other countries like that cause seriously we dont care... I think these other countries are so obsessed with beating America at anything and so overcome with national pride that it become very hard for any American to win a decision in a fight such as "Dirrell/Froch"... We give everyone a fair shake from other countries (mostly)

You can't blame Dirrell for feeling that way. Obviously if he makes the final it will be in the US against Ward and if he fights Froch again in the semis hopefully it will be in a geographically neutral locale.

Dirrel won 8 or 9 rounds minimum and got credit for 5. Contrast that with Kessler who came to the US and lost every round but got 2 rounds from 2 judges and 3 rounds from another.

A geographically neutral locale equals no money so unfortunately that is not a possibility.

I agree to an extent. Fighters from Europe, Mexico, Africa, Philippines, and everywhere else get a better shot here. For example, Calzaghe had a fair shot against B-Hop here, but could we say the same about Hopkins if they fought in the UK. Same thing with Hatton-Collazo.
I agree that other countries love beating Americans, but non-American fighters get screwed on foreign soil just as bad. I never seen the fight cause it's so hard to find, but I heard Marquez was robbed pretty badly against Chris John.

Americans aren't perfect either. Chris John got screwed against Juarez the first time in Texas with a draw. And I remember Lennox Lewis getting a draw against Holyfield in what should have been a close, clear decision. Also Castillo was screwed against Mayweather. Sure there was more, I just don't feel getting too deep into it.

However, Americans seem to rob other Americans from other towns/states more often. Like recently Malignaggi getting screwed in Texas against Diaz.

The Froch - Dirrell fight was very close. None of the judges were British, and the referee was South American. So no, I don't agree with Dirrell.

He could have beaten Froch easily if he decided to fight. It's his fault he lost
