It's not quite an era vs era thing, but I would have loved to see the James Toney who brutalized Barkley fight the Roy who a year-and-a-half later beat a weight-drained Toney. That would have been a true spectacle.

          as for era-v-era,

          Hagler-Hopkins, Jones jr-Bob Foster (175), Calzaghe-Jones jr (at 168), Ray Leonard-Ray Robinson, Louis-Ali, Salvador Sanchez-Marco Antonio Barrera/Erik Morales/Manny Pacquiao, Mickey Ward-Ricky Hatton, Tszyu-Mayweather jr, Louis-Frazier, Tyson-Frazier, Tyson-Ali, Roy Jones jr-Ray Leonard (160), Pacquiao-Chavez

          and maybe the most exciting

          Pacquiao v Pryor at 140!!!!!!!!!!!

              Bobby Chacon vs. Arturo Gatti
              Ray Mancini vs. Diego Corrales
James Toney vs. Marvin Hagler (the older Hagler who was less mobile, more aggressive, and easier to hit. You'd get some terrific exchanges, especially on the inside).
