I have a good one....
Muhammad Ali fought Chuck Wepner aka the real Rocky Balboa on March 24th, 1975, when Ali was 45-2 and (barely) won by TKO in the closing seconds of the 15th and final round.
George Foreman fought Chuck Wepner on August 18th, 1969, when Foreman was 3-0, a whole 5 years+ before Wepner fought Ali, and Foreman TKO'd Wepner in Round 3.
Strangely enough, Ali fought Wepner after an upset KO of Foreman just five months earlier, and did not have anywhere near the same result of success that Foreman had 5 years earlier against Wepner when knocking him out in the 3rd round of just his 4th professional fight!
And on a sidenote I would like to add, that after looking at a complete list of Ali's opponents, he did not have 1 single fight where he was fighting an opponent with more losses than wins, except for his fourth fight against Jimmy Robinson who was 1-2.. Every other fight the opponent atleast had a decent record, there was no handpicked fights on the resume of the "Greatest" and that is simply why he is the greatest.. I'd like to see boxers nowadays fighting the talent throughout their careers as Ali fought throughout his entire career!Last edited by hateinyaeyes32; 02-24-2010, 04:22 PM.Comment

While Mike Tyson had several HW champs on his resume, everyone else his age had Burger King, the car wash, and the gas station on theirs.Comment

When Tyson was becoming the youngest champion in the world, Holyfield was getting ready for his 8th fight.
When Lennox Lewis turned pro Tyson was already the undisputed champion and his style of fighting previously was declining.
When Ali fought Berbick, Tyson was only 2 years or so in knowing about boxing as in fighting. 5 years later Tyson fought Berbick.
Berbick fought Buster Douglas less then a year before Tyson would get his first loss from him.
Buster Douglas lost to Tony Tucker ( In which Tyson would beat 3 months later)Comment
