I see that a lot of people are saying that most raw power punchers like Shavers, Jackson, etc. should be in the top 10. They also don't see why Louis is rated #1.

There's more to punching than just raw power. There's many other things that are part of a punch and Louis had them all. Power, precision, form, speed, all of it. He combined all of those things in a perfect manner.

Yeah, it seems to be the basic rule to rate everything in boxing, and yes Tyson,Hears and Jackson should've been higher along with Shavers. Louis isn't the hardest puncher ever, no way.

This list is ridiculous. I know this list only consists of retired boxers, but that is beside the point. How could they not put Manny Pacquaio as Number 1? Everyone on this site knows that Manny Pacquaio is the greatest fighter/puncher who ever lived or will ever live, as well as the most popular and biggest moneymaker in the sport. In fact, he is such a devastating puncher that he would knock out everyone on this top ten list and both Klithscko brothers in the same night. I didn't even see his name on the list, although I'll admit that I went blind when I saw Naseem Hamed at 46, so I may have missed it.

This list would have been better if they had ranked them based on weight class (the weight class where they fought the most fights) instead of lumping them all together. You can't adequately compare Tommy Hearns to Joe Lous or anyone else in different weight classes for that matter.
