General Santos City and its neighboring provinces are generally peaceful. Yes I've seen a lot of foreigners here from white, black to asians (mostly koreans).

The ones that are a bit dangerous are some areas in North Cotabato, Maguindanao, and Lanao Del Norte and Del Sur.

The most dangerous are in Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi but it's very far from where Manny lives it's an island southwest of General Santos City and near to Malaysia.

Manny's house are surrounded by poor folks since it is the place where he grow up. Most of the crimes there are petty crimes like stealing caps and cellphones but not really rampant, I know coz some kid stole my cap while riding a jeepney some years ago.
