his dedication has been poor for parts of his career....but you gotta respect him, he wasn't always undedicated and there's been times during his career where he's really turned it on, got focused, and performed like the true great he is... I've got almost every James Toney fight there's been, on DVD, from like his 4th or 5th pro fight. He was dedicated enough to go 44-0-2 against stellar opposition in the early nineties, dedicated enough to get his butt down to 190 when he'd been fighting for a good while in the high 90s and even over 200 lbs, to take Jirov and The Ring's Fighter of the Year award in 03 (he also won it in 91), dedicated enough to keep in some sort of shape to get the Ws he has at HW against ppl like Holy, Ruiz, Guinn, draw vs Rahman, most people also thought he beat Peter in their first fight too.... James's focus has always been his achillies heel, but he hasn't been completely undedicated, like I say

To tell u the truth...I think he sometimes does for whatever reason..but sometimes he is very clear...I remember Bowe was slurring there for a while and then...he just stopped suddenly...

i cant believe JT even does sit ups. i really cant picture him training at all. i just picture him sparring all day and thats it to get ready for a fight.

I swear I once heard, at least for one particular fight, that his training only consisted of sparring.
