I really like Calzaghe but he left question marks when he retired. He hung em up just as things where getting interesting.(Dawson, Bute, Froch and so on)

finally someone hit it dead on. the guy didn't care one bit about fighting the best he just wanted to make a living. then at the end of his career he tried to fool everyone into thinking he was a major player all along. don't think so. and when a bunch of really good young fighters came along to test him he packed up and retired. a good fighter but a dishonorable career.

Joe can't leave it alone, he loves the attention Froch gives him.

joe craves fame so much he will soon resort to being on "celebrity" big brother. most people would think this is embarrassing and degrading but have you seen calzaghe's boxing career? he's used to it.

Revisionist history. When Joe retired, the only real challenge was Dawson and he'd just come off being bullied round the ring by Glen Johnson and beating Tarver in a ho-hum affair. The likes of Ward, Bute and Froch had yet to establish themselves at all

Froch is going to get exposed by Kessler (well he was already exposed and got a gift decision, but this time he'll lose).

i would say ottke's supermiddle resume as at least as good as calzaghe's maybe better.the old shot jones and the gift decision over hopkins don't add much for calzaghe. and calzaghe's best real win is over kessler who got his anus handed to him on a plate by ward. luckily calzaghe retired just in time. undefeated!
how the fcuk do you come to the conclusion that calzaghe win over hopkins was a gift! lol. pretty much twice the amount of punches landed at a higher percentage. open your yanky plated peelers!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's Mayweather speak IMO. Calzaghe could and most probably would have dominated all those guys mentioned but that doesn't mean he couldn't have fought them. A year after Calzaghe retired, those guys are now amongst the top fighters in there respected divisions.

My point is, he shouldn't have retired when the opportunity was clearly there to add to his legacy. Beating Chad Dawson would have been Calzaghe's beat win to date IMO.

Dawson, Bute and Froch(I hate to say it!) > Kessler and Lacy. The Hopkins fight was woeful.
