It seems like a lot of Cuban defectors would hate Cuba as a country. For instance, because of the Cuban government and the economic policy that they uphold, Joel Casamayor had to sell his Olympic gold medal in order to throw a birthday party for his daughter. In addition, all the Cuban boxers have to leave their families to pursue their craft as a career.
Why is it that all of them sport the Cuban flag so frequently? Is there just a disconnect in the way people think about their heritage and the government that currently controls the country?
I'm really interested to learn the way these fighters think.
