It seems like a lot of Cuban defectors would hate Cuba as a country. For instance, because of the Cuban government and the economic policy that they uphold, Joel Casamayor had to sell his Olympic gold medal in order to throw a birthday party for his daughter. In addition, all the Cuban boxers have to leave their families to pursue their craft as a career.

Why is it that all of them sport the Cuban flag so frequently? Is there just a disconnect in the way people think about their heritage and the government that currently controls the country?

I'm really interested to learn the way these fighters think.

Yeah you got it, we love our country like nothing else because its so unique and it made us who we are, and the hard times there tought us how to survive anywere in the world, so we appriciate that, and even though he had a hard life in cuba we all enjoyed life wish is wierd when you look at the situation there, we all leave out country due to financial or living conditions not because we dont love the country.
