I disagree with some of your criteria.

There would be an unlimited number of tests.
Sure happy with that, but i would impose a 5 day before the fight cut off, because there would be no benefit gained from using PED's then other than those used on fight night that would be detected in the post fight test anyway

There would be no prior notice of when the testers would arrive.
Goes without saying, but Camp should be allowed to post a training schedual and testers shold only be allowed to test outside those times. that way fighters preparation would not be interupted by testers when they arrive un announced. In fact you could even do it the other way, tell camps they have to be availible for testing in a two hour window every day and then allow them to work around that

The tests would be both blood and urine.
    Sure

Anyone who tested positive would be removed from the card.
And banned from any further HBO fights for 2 years

Anyone who refused testing would be removed from the card.
And banned from any further HBO fights for 2 years

as much as I want their to be a better standard testing procedure for boxing, I dont think networks should be the ones establishing it, imho, they will be too biased on fighters who makes them money ...

imagine being a hbo fighter (PPV or not), and you have 3 fights on the year...thats 3 training camps of random blood test...if that means 6 blood test per training camp session, thats a total of 18 blood test for 3 fights...ive seen the tube size they use to draw blood...and its more than a teaspoon or a tablespoon that alot of pac haters say it is...and to have a total of 18 of those within a year is crazy...its kinda like donating blood.

Since the May-Pac negotiations I've read several articles on drug testing in sports and feel that it's very easy for boxers to cheat by using banned substances. In my opinion it's ridiculous that professional cycling can manage such effective procedures, yet boxing, which is a far more dangerous sport, doesn't seem at all concerned with ensuring a level playing field. If a cyclist cheats, his opponent will not die or be hurt. If a boxer cheats then he's putting another man's health at serious risk.

HBO is the home of most of the biggest fights and the most successful boxers. There is no realistic chance of it happening, but if they were to take action then this would go a long, long way to seeing that there is less cheating in the sport.
It will make things much more difficult for Networks such as HBO to establish a fair drug testing policy since the NSAC or the USADA have set drug testing policies (or LAWS if any) at hand.

This will also increase the bias just because the fights are shown on a certain cable channel/network, which will result in promoters pulling out from the fights.

More on this later...need to play ball for the meantime.

i voted no, first off i would only support it if it was a rule made by the commissions, since their the ones who's job it is to GOVERN boxing.....

second, HBO is smart enough to not **** off their numbers with the potential fall out of fighters who wouldn't want a network dictating more actions in their lives than they already are.

leave it to the governing bodies and thats it, anything else is extra and should be done in and on their own terms outside of the official governing bodies, with all parties agreeing......... not dictating what they have to do or can and can not do.

yall think because of a drug test ti's going to clean up the sport, we need to be more concerned with the judges and refs about the cheating in boxing than the fighters themselves.

we need to look at the promoters, managers, trainers, dietitians, specialists, etc, to clean up the sport, not just testing the fighters. there is more cheating and corruption outside the realm of what the fighters are doing in the game of boxing as a whole that is more important that trying to find out wether or not someone is juicing, the commissions job is to handle that, if you want better drug testing talk to them, campaign for it with them, other than that put the focus on the real corruption in boxing and that is the judging................... if we're going to clean up the sport, lets put flames to the peoples feet who are making these career destroying, life destroying decisions.

we've seen at least a half dozen robberies this year alone, and that is being modest.... **** a damn roid test, how about a damn competence test first to clean out the sport of its poor officiating.................. roids and PED's are the a distraction from the real threat to boxing and the is the corruption involved with boxing, from the inside.
