WHAT IF Mosley decides to counterpunch?

Let's say Shane stays in the center of the ring, waits for Floyd to make the first swing then Mosley counterpunch with powershots/combos, then Floyd backs off, but Mosley stays in center of the ring and taunt Floyd to come over for a brawl? And if Floyd doesn't come in, Shane does a chicken gesture. How effective will this be?

That wouldn't work. Maybe in small doses he could try and make Mayweather make the first move but as far as a fight long strategy, no way. That's the kind of fight Mayweather wants.

Mosley is going to rough Mayweather up and try to keep him on the ropes.

well if they both decide not to make the first move, would be funny as hell just to see them trash talk the entire time while they get boo'ed by spectators, lol!

Mayweather's command of range is almost unrivaled. You assume he would be dancing around the edges of the ring while Shane stood still but really he'd be keeping just out of reach, ready to strike and move out again before Shane knows what's happening.

One of the worst possible gameplans for Shane would be to try and counter punch or attempt to force Floyd to initiate the action.

well like I said, Floyd wouldn't back off until their first exchange in which Mosley counters him with a powershot/combo, putting Floyd to full defense mode after he feels Mosley's power. Saying that Shane staying in the center and counterpunching obviously means Shane respects Floyd's defense so he may be cautious being the initiator.

****** move. Shane cannot win fighting in that style. He needs aggression every step of the way. He's too outgunned in footwork to counterpunch because he couldn't keep up with PBF.

Floyd would just pick his shots one at the time if that where to happen. Shane must fight like De La Hoya tried to do. Effective pressure with hard shots to the body.
