    James Tony's future looks bright

Am I the only person in the world who thinks Toney fought pretty damn good on thursday? I just watched the fight a 2nd time and relized that he did a great job for returning from a 11 month lay off. Alot of people on this site and other sites had me believing he looked terrible and has no future as a heavyweight. But then when I watched it again I notice that it is not true, Boxing Writer Predo Fernandez said "It looked like Toney had never been gone." Now for those of you who are going to get angry at this thread let me say this: He should get in better shape, He should fight better fighters and lastly I will admit he doesn't have a big punch at heavyweight. After watching that fight I still believe he can and will do serious damage in that division.(based on talent alone)As far as the punching power, thats not as big of a problem as some of you make it seem.

I'm with you, I though Toney looked pretty damn good comming off a long layoff. I really feel he has the skills to beat any of the best heavyweights on any given night.

James looked very good. I know he can beat against Vitali, Byrd, and/or Ruiz. He looked sharp and accurate.

I don't know about Big K or Byrd, though it would be a good fight with either, but I'm fairly certain he would take out Brewster or Ruiz. Probably not inside the distance, though.

James Toney suffered another injury indicative of the use of immunosuppressive training agents...he may be done. He'll of course need the prerequisite comeback non-event against another no-hoper....at his age this is not a good thing.

I agree that he did great. He dominated Booker the whole entire fight. Just because he didnt KO Booker doesnt mean that he doesnt have good power IMO. No one else has KOed Booker either. I thought James performance last thursday was impressive.
