Anyone see Shawn Porter on Friday?

He outboxed Jordan, but almost got KTFO in the early rounds. And somebody actually said P.Will should fight him...hahaha Williams would TKO him Quintana style.

He's a decent fighter, but the bouncing needs to stop. It looked like he wore himself down a little and you can't afford to do that when you're trying to fight cautiously against a much bigger opponent.

I wouldn't say he almost got KTFO he took a solid shot that knocked him backwards and he lost his balance. He seemed fine afterwords though.

I agree he isn't even close to being ready for the likes of P-Will though but that was a good learning experience for him. He fought a guy 5-6 inches taller and had like a 10 inch reach advantage or something like that plus he was a southpaw. If he wants to compete at 154 he's going to have to get used to fighting guys much taller than him so that was good match making.

He got hit with that shot once and becae cautious. Good thing he was fighting a stiff who thought he would land it over and over.

If Jordan had followed it up with just a baby tap from his left hand, I'm almost certain Porter would have went down. Although I do agree that KTFO wasn't the best choice of words, since Porter would have won regardless. I also agree that this was a great learning experience. I kinda wish he had hit the canvas just so he'd know for sure never to do that again.

Overall it wasn't very impressive though. If Luis Collazo KO'ed that guy without breaking a sweat then he should have been able to knock him down at least...But I guess you can't expect the best from a newcomer. He still has lots to learn, such as not bouncing around so much. I see a bright future for him, especially if he moved down to WW.

he needs to keep his left hand up when he goes inside, that's why he was getting caught. Those types of little things are hopefully the things he can learn after reviewing the tape and getting back into the gym.

The bouncing thing, I don't know if it's such as big of a deal as teddy atlas was making it out to be, a lot of guys in the pro's bounce, and I think it's alright if you don't overdue it and have some type of rhythm to it, which he didn't, but he seemed a bit nervous I think maybe him headlining a card for the first time may have played a part in that, but we'll see.

But yeah I think we learned a couple things about porter:

1). his power isn't quite as good as his record indicates
2). he still has a lot to learn

But all in all, he's a prospect, seems like a really good guy and he does have talent.
