    This is an msg fight

mentioning norton/ali in the same story as cotto-yuri is another shill piece for arum's wretched PR machine.....IT'S LOKING LIKE THE VENUE WILL BE THE BIGGER STORY THAN THE FIGHT.

I am not sure where the people live where they say boxing is on top???? Boxing use to be on regular tv as ABS, CBS, and NBC. Many top fighters as Sugary Ray Leonard were featured on regular tv. The show contender BOMBED on NBC and it eventually had to go on Cable. The biggest fight in the sport in 23 years was KILLED due to arguments over blood testing. We are die hard boxing fans but the fact is that Boxing is FAR from top of the sports world now.

Boxing is doing fine. Pac vs. Mayweather was a big fight. But there were plenty of big fights before that did get made.

Cotto will draw a big crowd, put on a good show & win the WBA Jr. Middleweight Championship. If he doesn't, this guy would have fallen off of a cliff as far as the boxing world goes & being recognized as an elite fighter. Retirement would come very soon after.

I like the idea of getting boxing back into stadiums and spreading the fights around not just keeping them in Vegas.

But Cotto-Foreman won't be that big of a draw I don't think. They should have gone with something better for Yankee Stadium.

cotto always sells in new york. When he fought judah I think they had a record breaking attendance. Even when he fought clottey who isnt really known by casual fans still they drew a big crowd. Im sure this place will be packed.

Foreman is a defensive fighter and i'm not sure if Cotto still knows how to pull the trigger......so if you're expecting a war, you won't be getting one, i don't think this fight will live upto the hype.....i hope it does though

Cotto has made it in my HOF because he is the meaning of BOXING, he has all the heart in the ***ing world. Boxers in the 2010 are protected like if they were the Golden Child ( when they are **** but HYPE ), boxing isn't was it should be anymore it's all about the MONEY......Cotto was just like his tatt sais " Fearless" .....
fearless?..he ran from post to post against pacman....he was just in survival mode,it seems like he wanted to quit...he ran at the end against mosley, maragarito, clottey,,,but against the urkals, gomez he stands and trades against pacman..run,run,run

Cotto is a great draw in NY and Yuri is from the area, this fight will sell well here plus the Stadium is very fan friendly. If tickets prices are better than MSG it easily will sell well. The only problem is Arum's undercard that are not usually good. Cotto is like a spanish Gatti but with a little more skills, their fights are good until they last or pull thru

^ yeah I think a lot will depend on tix pricing .. as I remember I purposely didn't go to Trinidad-Jones at the Garden simply because the $50 seats were jacked up to around $120 .. and I read a maxboxing article that stated the total attendance was give or take 12,000 (total capacity of MSG is a bit over 20,000 for fights last I checked)

                      1. I think big fights in Vegas is too much of a standard in boxing. So I don't mind a big fight being somewhere else. Hell even overseas doesn't bother me at all. All the big fights don't have to be in Vegas and I def don't mind a change in scenery.

                      2. even though it's a title fight, on paper Foreman-Cotto could get very boring, especially if Foreman turns to boxing-moving

pretty sure that is a true statement, I remember reading an article on the fight that said the same thing.
