Roy is 100% right. Unless the result is like Thrilla in Manila, this fight does NOTHING for the legacies of both Roy & Bernard!! This fight is basically Leonard-Hearns II, which I had to look up who won!

Roy's wrong. He's seen as shop-worn fighter. He's gone 5-5 in his last fights since 2004, 3 of which have come by knockouts, and another of the five was a beating at the hands of Calzaghe. Jones' punch resistance and skills have diminshed and he lacks that killer instinct he had as a fighter in the 90's. His career is going downhill. What was his last great win? Trinidad...? Trinidad, an inactive fighter who had NEVER fought at light heavyweight (MUCH LESS super middleweight)...that's it?

Meanwhile, B-HOP, after losing his undisputed middleweight title to Taylor, has rebounded by proving people wrong with his win over Tarver and then proving people wrong yet again with his win over Pavlik. He's in divisional rankings and pound for pound rankings.

      Where is Roy? NOWHERE.

That has been the difference in this whole affair. Roy could've probably beaten Hopkins again if Jones hadn't been knocked out so savagely by Tarver...maybe Roy lacked mental toughness or whatever. I don't know. The point is Hopkins has always come back from his losses and managed to surprise the skeptics. Jones' career as an elite fighter ended in his 2004 loss. Bernard has found a way to rebound.

It's Roy who comes out gaining credibility if he wins, because he's perceived as being the underdog according to recent performances.

B-Hop is just picking on a former great fighter who's only got star power going for him at this stage.

If Roy losses then the loss doesn't hurt his career.. after all, he already kicked Hopkins ass when it mattered. This fight doesn't matter at all.. Hopkins really stands to gain nothing from this. If he wins, he beats a fighter who is shot and has a losing record. If he loses.. he loses to a fighter who is shot and has a losing record.

Its 2 older great fighters. If you don't have anything really important to do that night what real boxing fan would miss it?
