Amir Khan and GBP signed a 3-fight deal which says that GBP will have to pay Amir a minimum of $1 million dollar per fight. Khan-Maidana will NO WAY IN HELL generate enough money to satisfy all the involved parties. GBP would take a big financial risk by taking the Maidana fight. Not because of the possibillity of Amir losing but because of the possibillity the fight won't sell **** and therefore GBP will be left with a burden of $1 million dollar for Amir's salary.

I think GBP are playing it safe with Amir. Thats why they paid Maidana off for 3 fights. Not because they want Maidana to lose but because they still don't know for sure if they can afford Amir's 1 million dollar per fight salary. That's why they signed a 3 fight deal with Maidana so that if Amir doesn't sell good in the U.S. they can sign a new contract that gaurantees Amir a lesser amount of money for his fights.

The 3-fight ducking is blatantly true.

Fact is - Maidana is actually a bigger name than Amir Khan. Maidana absolute devastated Ortiz live on HBO, Khan's trainer/promoters shat bricks because they know Maidana will knock Khan out (that's why they will dump the belt rather than fight Maidana) - hence the ducking for 3 fights.

If it is a 3 fight deal Golden Boy will most likely be looking for a big earner on the third fight by putting Khan in with Ortiz. Keeping all the money inhouse. That is the big payday for them. They want Maidana out of the way because if he did beat Khan they are screwed. If Maidana can get through the next 3 fights unbeaten he could face the winner of Khan Ortiz which would be a big fight. I think that is Golden Boy's plan.

If Khan is as big a star as you make him out to be i'm sure they could pay his 1 million purse if they put him in with a walking Potato. GBP can afford that ten times over. The fact that they paid Maidana off then pleaded/begged the WBA to let Khan keep the belt, proves that they knew the chances of him getting KO'd were extremely high, blatant ducking of your mandatory challenger.

Outside of the UK, Maidana is just as big or even a bigger name than Khan, so it makes no difference who Khan fights really.

The fact is he's just signed with GBP, and so they don't want him losing his first fight under them by knockout, which is more than likely what will happen should he face Maidana.
