The respected president of the BWAA said “the decisiveness of Pacquiao’s victory for ‘Fighter of the Decade’ surprised me.”

Just one loss and he would've been voted 'hypejob of the decade'. Boxing fans are very peculiar.

    So actually

of course nobody cud argue about the fact that manny fights his heart out in the ring and very well deserves it! both floyd and manny are great champions, floyd cud do things manny cant, but manny cud also do things floyd cant but as far as the award manny absolutly deserves it over floyd or any other fighter.

He said Pacquiao “got more than twice as many votes as the second place finisher, Floyd Mayweather Jr.”

        Second place must hurt.

Only PBF and to a lesser degree, maybe Hopkins to compete with for the accolade anyway. Not a surprise Manny drowned them out.

Hard to argue, Pacquiao has achieved a lot this decade, going up in weigh and whacking the top guys out. Who would have thought that we would see him at 147 2-3 years ago?

The president of the Boxing Writers Jack Hirsh says pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao won the “Fighter of the Year” award by a huge margin.

Although stating he would “rather not give a vote breakdown” of how the members balloting for “Fighter of the Year” tuned out, Hirsch told us “the margin of Pacquiao’s victories were enormous” although he conceded a handful of members votes for someone else.

Hirsch said the BWAA was negotiating with Madison Square Garden to have the dinner at the famed venue on June 11 and said he was hoping they could work something out but that “right now its no better than 50-50.”
