Pretty sure Kessler would've beaten the green Ward that was still fighting tomato cans 4 years ago, but maybe that's just me.

Chronic back problems are a double whammy on a fighters body.

Not only do they have to deal with the pain and the impact on performance, but it also causes them to miss workouts which will in turn effect their weight loss and ultimately lead to a guy having to punish his body further by going to greater lengths to cut weight he didn't work off naturally.

as battling nelson says kessler has had bad back and hand problems which has put him on the downslide earlier then he should have but for people to say he is a quitter is a joke olsen asked him like 5 times did he want to quit and he said no with those bad cuts aswell shows his heart he was just so flat against ward who was just so good that night.i dont think at this stage of his career he can win the tourament but he can stil do some damage he should get to the semis.war kessler

To be honest I think long layoffs are bad for the fighter. Kessler certainly doesn't need any layoffs at this point. The Ward loss was a wake-up call, we will see how he responds against Carl Froch. If he beats Froch decisively, the memory of the Ward loss will be all but erased. Then he'll just have to work his way towards a rematch, next time hopefully more prepared for what's coming to him against Ward.

I'm not sure I agree with you concerning the layoffs. Kessler's body has been fragile for at least the last 4 years and he hasn't been able to fight more than 2-3 times a year even though those fights where 'easy' wins.

Still we'll see how he responds against Froch and of course also how well those nasty cuts have healed. I just bought tickets to the fight today BTW.

lay offs and soft touches didnt do kessler any good last time he got beat, dude.....in fact theyre the reason why he is on the downside now......the difference between kessler of 07 and the one that returned vs sartison is huge.....

This is the beginning of the end. I doubt his spark aswell. Skills is there but it recuires a certain focus like the one Ward had in the fight.

It was obvious from the way he fought Ward.

1 million on Carlos Frochos to knock him out.

                    Who wants it?
