Pretty good scrap. Jordan Russell is more durable than I expected, so respect to him for putting up a decent fight.

I think this fight had to happen the way it did. Shawn needs to know he can't get too comfortable and confident, and I feel that's the way things were going up until now. Russell's height and reach advantage definitely made Shawn work. This is a good thing, although because Shawn didn't go in there and annihilate this guy within a couple of rounds I expect there will be a few idiots on the forums claiming Shawn is a hype job and all the usual crap.

It's clear to see where Shawn needs to work on a couple of things. Like everyone else, I agree about the bouncing. A slightly slower fighter probably wouldn't get away with it because he'd be getting timed. Since Shawn is fast, he gets away with it.

I think Shawn will learn a lot from this fight. There's a small amount of criticism that has come along with his performance, and that criticism is justified. It will make him into a better fighter overall.

I agree he needs to stop trying to be Pacquiao. He didnt look good in that fight to me. Hopefully he learn and bounce back.

Never say the word bounce around Sean!! LOL it was funny though watching Jordan start bouncing too towards the end of the fight.

I too thought he looked like he was trying to emulate Pac a bit, trying to get in then out when he should have been staying in vs the much taller opponent. I think that right hook in the 2nd (or 3rd dont remember) made Sean weary of staying in even though it was him bad (gloves down and just sitting there), not Jordan settting it up or anything.

I think 147 is right for Shawn, more so now than ever.

I've been saying this since I first saw porter.

I'm not sold on him yet.

My prediction for Shawn Porter: As soon as he steps up in class and fights somebody in the top ten he's going to get ktfo. He has no power. He must have been in with some real stiffs to get 10 kos. Jordan wasn't even trying to win last night's fight. I think he was there just for the payday. He had trouble letting his fists fly. Spent too much time in a defensive mold. I think Porter should keep his day job if he has one.....and if he doesn't have one he should get one......because he ain't **** as a fighter.
