Do Pacquiao’s fans care who he fights?

In reading some of the comments of Manny Pacquiao’s fans, it seems many of them could careless whether he fights a good opponent or a crappy one. Many of them openly say they don’t care. That is so hard me to understand as a boxing writer. How can you not care? Is it that they just like to see the guy fight and don’t care that they’re paying money to see him. I know that in Philippines it’s free to see him fight, but for fans in the United States, they have to fork over big bucks to see a typical Pacquiao fight.

Wouldn’t they want to see him fight the best fighters every time out rather than someone who is over the hill, shot or maybe around the 10th best welterweight rather than the best? For me, if I had a favorite fighter, I surely wouldn’t gladly plunk down $50 to see him fight less than the best fighters.

If he was fighting a bunch of fighters that I considered to be lousy, not only would I not pay to see his fights, but I would probably stop watching the dudes fight altogether. I want to see competitive fights, not mismatches. I’m not just happy to see a mismatch for a favorite fighter. Once I see they’re just going through the motions, padding their record and looking for just money fights, I move on.

I don’t mind seeing a fan that has undying devotion to a fighter, but come on; you got to speak your mind if you think that fighter isn’t fighting the best opponent.

95% of his fans don't care at all.

    This thread will reflect that.

      Fail thread.. fail article..

After Pac beat Cotto... all the fans were screaming.. "we want Mayweather"

All the Pac fan in NSB would rather watch Pac vs Floyd.
At least Pac vs Clottey is a good fight.

Floyd would be fighting Paulie right now if it wasnt for a earthquake..

how many times has pacquiao not fought big name or top ranked opponents since he made it to the big time in 2001?

          ****** writer.

the reason pac fans and boxing fans in general don't care too much about who pac fights is because every year he'll give you at least one good fight.

that's why no one really whines too much about pacquiao not fighting so and so or so and so. because with pac eventually you'll see the fight you want or at least see another fight you want.

He would destroy Berto, Berto is over rated and not on Mayweathers level

                  my ass.

floyd wanted matthew hatton and nate campbell.

if hbo had accepted that crap , he'd be fighting one of them.

floyd took the mosley fight because HE DIDN'T REALLY HAVE MUCH CHOICE.

It took a natural disaster, and Floyd back against the wall, and waiting for Mosley to get old for him to fight Mosley.

And never once was Williams name brought up in talks for a Mayweather fight. Yet Paulie and Mathew hatton name were thrown around alot..
