That's funny -- because he won't be on the ballot until the ballots are sent out toward the end of 2010. If he gets in the top three of voting totals (which he will), then he'll be inducted in 2011.
Mike Tyson to be voted into the Boxing Hall Of Fame

Eventhough this is a repeat thread
This is a no brainer, Mike did so much for the sport of boxing and for 15 years at least he was the biggest name in boxing, even while behind bars.

Tyson, learned he's going to be voted into the Hall, which has previously inducted Muhammad Ali and Sugar Ray Leonard. A Tyson rep told us, "Mike is so delighted. It has been an amazing year for him so far." Boxers have to wait five years after retirement to be eligible for the Hall. Tyson retired from the ring in 2005.
Happy new year Mike.Comment

Tyson deserves it. THough most people wont say he is the greatest heavyweight who ever lived. He did create something when he was in his prime. He was the talk of the town and created excitement and didnt let people see beyond the first round most of the time.Last edited by hugh grant; 02-19-2010, 07:10 PM.Comment

My thoughts exactly...Page Six is tabloid junk so it's not surprising they'd muff this. Mike was probably informed he'll be on the ballot. I would assume he and Chavez go in easily this year. Tszyu, also first year eligible, is likely to get a nod as well.Comment
