You're callin' this a duck? This must be troll bait but I'll nibble : maybe he wants to test the waters at the higher weight class before he jumps in w/the champ...can you blame him?

Imo, it's too soon for Valero to be fighting Bradely at this point.

he hasn't even fought yet at 140 it's smart to test the waters before goning straight to the top.

And it's not like he's fighting some bum this guy is going to be a very tough test for valero and will likely result in valero's first victory not ending in KO.

I realize this kid had a rough childhood so it's a feel-good story. But in boxing, 75% of fighters come from bad upbringings so I still don't get why B-Scene loves Lamont.
I'm not hyping Petersen. I think he's going to get KO'd. I'm simply saying this is an exciting fight I'm going to enjoy watching. And I don't blame Valero for facing someone else before targeting the de facto champion at 140.

What's exciting about this fight? From your perspective, you'd be excited for any Valero fight. So why did Arum make the Peterson fight after clearly calling out Bradley's name after Valero beat DeMarco?

Maybe cos it's silly? It's a testing-the-waters-at-a-new-weight fight. And a fairly decent one at that.

I do think it's a missed opportunity for a lot of great lightweight match-ups involving Edwin though.

Petersen is a boxer who isn't afraid to be hit, Valero is a slugger. The fight will be fun to watch. In all likelihood, Arum realized he was making a big mistake thinking a Demarco victory means Valero is ready for Timothy. Simple as that.
