No announcement yet.
Hopkins has the most delusional fans. He is not going 12 with Haye.

plus, hopkins lost 2x to jermaine taylor, somebody we found out was NOTHING SPECIAL, but he was equally sized, and had above average talent....just the type of fighter hopkins loses to every time...
now you talk about somebody being nothing special, and tarver should be the name that comes up every time...tarver is hopkins stans great equalizer man i tell you...if it wasn't for that tarver win, hopkins would not have a win against an equally sized, equally skilled fighter...
only thing special about hopkins is he managed to remain a p4p rated fighter at an advanced age, due to the fact that his career is full of wins over smaller fighters who couldn't check his chin properly...

Hopkins started out heavier. He moved to middleweight because that was the right fit for him. Early in his career, and you'll notice this with most guys if you boxrec them, they weigh in over the actual limit, because it's not a title fight. Often you see guys early in their career who are middleweights weighting in at 164-165 etc.
Quick example: Danny Jacobs. he's a middleweight but he's only weighed under 160 one time and that was because a belt was on the line

Further, hopkins EASILY made middleweight, he most often came in at 158-159 pounds but on a number of times weighed 157 and even 156 pounds. Like Manny Stewart said, if he really wanted to he could have made jr. middleweight.
Hopkins never had a problem making 160, up until he was around 40 years old. The last year or two at middleweight he stated it was getting harder for him to make 160, but again, he was about 40 at the time.Last edited by ИATAS; 02-19-2010, 03:55 PM.
