Pacquiao/Mosley vs 34 year old De La Hoya at 154lbs

Imagine Pacquiao or Mosley in their current state fighting a 154lb JMW champion De La Hoya who just came off of a stunning 6 round KO victory over Ricardo Mayorga. This is the De La Hoya that Floyd fought. Who would win, and how?

De La Hoya-Mosley III would probably be very similar to the second fight in my opinion, with DLH controlling him with the jab early. However the back injury will slow him down and Mosley will steal the late rounds, but I can see DLH holding on for a close split decision victory because Mosley won't be able to move like Floyd.

De La Hoya-Pacquiao would be the most challenging to predict. It all depends on how De La Hoya handles his speed. I like Pacquiao's chances in this fight, but I won't say DLH has no chance...I think he took Pac to lightly in 2008 and suffered for it, and he also wasn't the same fighter. I highly doubt Pac would stop him. If anybody got stopped, it would be Pac, but my prediction would be a close but unanimous decision victory for Pacquiao simply because of his speed. But again, DLH would definitely have a chance.

I think Pac looks too good at 147 to say that's his limit. He'd probably weigh in at 148 or 149 for the bout which shouldn't be too much for him to handle.

But I agree about the Mosley fight. Oscar clearly outpointed him in the rematch. I could have seen a third fight in 2007 being the same way, just with DLH not getting robbed.

Pac can't fight at 154, not against anybody really good. He gets by at WW because of his speed. He'd get beat by Oscar at 154 handily. Shane already fought a younger DLH at 154 in 2003 and almost won (I thought DLH got shaded). In 2006 Shane beats him at 154.

You're telling me the Manny that fought Cotto at WW can't beat this?

Dude gets battered exactly the same way he did at WW.

Maybe not the current Shane because we haven't seen much from him recently. Think of the one from the Collazo fight. That's the only good Shane I can think of because before that Winky kicked his ass twice and after that Cotto outboxed him.

Not only the speed. Oscar could never handle southpaws, hence why he kept away from them for the majority of his career. This is pretty a well-known.

I don't care what anyone says, Manny kills him.

I wouldn't have expected that from you Samurai. Bernard Hopkins = Natural MW. Pacquiao = Glorified JWW.

Pacquiao can't beat ODLH at 154, on his own turf. Pacquiao had to drain him just to have a chance.

Freddie said it himself that he saw ODLH's i.v. trying to rehydrate

                    Just stop.

Nobody, and I mean nobody dictates terms to Oscar De La ****ing Hoya.

It wasn't Pac who came knocking on Oscars door, it was the other way around.

Prior to that fight, Pac had never fought above 135, and only once at 135.

In comparison, DLH fought as high as 160 on more than one occasion.

You tell me what the middle ground should have been?
