Shane has recently said he has no problem facing Pwilliams and truth be told....Shane will have a easier time with williams than he did with Margarito. The smartest thing team Williams can do is to stay as far away as possible from a showdown with SSM.
first off, it definitely depends on the weight. second of all, pwill called out shane waaay before shane was looking at pac and floyd

But why would Shane be fighting unkown fighters at this stage of his career? Fact is a prime Winky and prime forrest>>>>>>>>>>pwilliams. Both are better boxers and more dangerous opponents. Shane has paid his dues, so I have no problem with Shane blowing off Pwill in pursuit of bigger fights (He did the same to Berto).

It's not that he is scared of these guys (because clearly he is not), it's just that these are 4th or 5th type options....guys you fight when you can't get a shot at the top guys in the division (ala Mayweather, Cotto, Pac). And before I get flamed...I say top guys as in fighter that bring alot of money, fans and ppv sales to the table.

pwill is by no means an easier fight than margs.

Well it would be the same type of fight. I'm saying this because I know pwills style and it's not hard to beat a fighter like him. Just some FYI....he is open to short hooks all day long. Look at how often quintana and Martinez hit him flush. All shane or any elite fighter will do is tie him up, slow down his workrate, while picking him apart. Shane vs Pwill would look exactly like Ward vs Kessler. Williams is nothing more than a volume puncher. I can go into detail on how easy it would be for an elite fighter...but its better to watch it happen if/when he steps into the ring against one.

dude the worst style matchup ever for shane was Vernon Forrest....but guess what....shane still fought him. Nobody had a better Jab around that time than Vernon. Vernon was tall (6-1), had a longer reach, Nasty right hand and was technically a better boxer than williams. Vernon was a better fighter in every way as compared to Williams.

Plain and simple....Shane was tired of fighting dangerous opponents and wanted to be involved in Big time fights. Why fight Pwill when he only brings 100-200 fans come fight night. Shane deserved a big payday, so I don't knock him for blowing off scrubs like williams and berto at that time.

Where in that quote did Shane mention being a drasw or it being a big fight. He said Ill fight ANYBODY but Williams our styes dont match up well.

So he said he'd fight anybody.

Just as long as isnt Paul.
