Ok make up your mind about Hopkins now people...

Everyone wanted him to fight Taylor...so he is...we will assume he gets past Taylor

    now Wright is his mandatory...

so if Hopkins moves up to face Joe C, Lacy, Tarver, or Johnson...will you guys say he is ducking Winky?

    or

if Hopkins's faces the "smaller" Winky, will you continue to say he is ducking Tarver, Joe C, Johnson, and Lacy?

I have a feeling people will be forever saying "Winky is the guy Hopkins HAS to beat if he REALLY wants to be considered great!" Well they said the same thing about Tito, DLH, and some even said it about Eastman and talked about how Hopkins had always been ducking the ever "dangerous" Eastman...

No matter Hopkins is going to lose to Taylor. He is looking past him and that is going to be his down fall.

      hmm

Hopkins is one of the best fighters ever. He owned Tito and thrashed him like no one else has. He KO'd DLH with one shot which no one else has. He's made top-contenders and champions like Joppy, Allen, Echols, G. Johnson, Eastman, and Vanderpool fight his fight at all times. He is a true mental genius in the ring. Hopkins is the fighter everyone should point to and say "that's how you fight". He is a jack of all trades and is technically as close to perfect as anyone ever has been.

All that said, I don't like him.

      (^_^)

Those names on that list are very underrated fighters as well. They have been labeled "bums" and whatnot....but are very respectable. All of them IMO. Hopkins is a damn genious, and is next to impossible to beat decisevly.

Johnson is the most overrated of the group however.

He seems a bit smug to me, and lately he seems to run a bit too much without punishing the opponent at the same time. Partially I don't like him for seemingly playing games with Taylor about the fight terms and backing out of the fight with Toney, and acting as if Jones was ducking him when in fact if anything, the opposite was true.

I root vs Hopkins when he fights. However, all things great I said in my previous post still stand. Hopkins is an all-time great. I don't like him (as a boxer) but I still am able to be truthful about his accomplishments and their significance.

hopkins is close to retiring. after the great but old technition hopkins looses to the younger bigger intelligent speedstir taylor i would think hopkins would turn towards the smaller winky. taylor is just too big for winky so i can see winky making money but no belts against hopkins.

I actually think Winky has as good as a chance as Taylor if not more to beat Hopkins, my humble Opinion .
