I weighed the odds, and I've been watching Winky for a long time, and knew his defense was good enough to withstand Tito, and with everybody betting on the puncher in this fight, it racked the odds up very favorable for me to put my big money on this fight, with a great payoff for the risk I was taking, which I felt was fairly minimal. There were a few times (after I'd already placed my bet) that I was second-guessing myself, but that always happens, and the money I use to bet on sports is expendable income...it's money I've built up over the last few years by doing this very thing...waiting until the odds are way against the smart money, and then betting the bundle. Yep, I could've lost big, but I saved a few hundred to start over, just in case. I figure..easy come, easy go

He did try a couple of times. He just missed really bad. The thing Tito does is when he gets frustrated he loses all of his gameplan. he doesnt think anymore once plan A doesnt work..

Is there any website that will give you straight odds like 2/1?

The odds are always "straight", they just phrase them differently than bookies used to. And they're pretty easy to figure also. If you place a bet of $100 on a fighter, with odds of +285, all you have to do to figure your possible winnings is multiply your original bet by 2.85 and you get the total winnings if your fighter comes through. For example, $15,500 on Winky at +280 (those are the odds I got with the sports bookie I use when I placed my bet shortly after this fight was signed) grossed me $43,400. Subtract my $15,500 and you get my net profit on the wager, 28,400. Subtract another $20 for the Fed-EX insured overnight delivery of the bank draft being sent out Monday, and I actually clear $28,380.

Anyway, Intertops is a decent online sports ******** site, but be warned: I've used it once or twice, and while I've always gotten my money, it can take a short period (couple of weeks) for it to show up in your account. And I've heard that some people who use online betting services and use direct wire transfers, get screwed when placing small bets....some banks charge so much for wire transfers that you actually end up owing the bank money when you win smaller bets.

And TheGreatest....that's the best way to start out....small. And once you make a few wins, put a small amount aside for "startover capital", so you don't have to dig into your pockets if you lose your ass on an upset. Personally, I've reduced myself to $300 (this is what I put back when I go "all in", just in case) more than once over the years, and this is the most I've ever actually won on a fight, but truthfully, fights like this only come along once every year or two, so the chance to really make big bucks with little investment doesn't come along that often, and being able to recognize them for what they are takes many years of studying the sport. Also, when or if you do get to the point where you're pretty good at picking a winner in a seemingly "close match", you don't want to spread the word around locally. I've made that mistake too. Talk to a few buddies about a fight you're going to get great odds on and you plan to make big money, and suddenly the odds go into the ****ter before you get a chance to place your bet and cash in on the opportunity.
