Foremans gonna take this one easy you just watch, dont think fighting at JrM gonna help cotto one bit tbh, he wont have to drain but he'll be fighting bigger guys, and this one likes to move and is quite fast i reckon yuri's cruising to a UD in this one.

The last time ive seen Cotto be Cotto was vs Jennings. Watch that fight and then watch Clottey, Pacquaios fight. Two different fighters.

I see Cotto losing a UD and it doesn't help that his mental state just aint there anymore.
I agree wheres the trademark body punching gone, that was his main strength i cant remember seeing that against manny at all when you would that could a weakness of manny

Reading this thread made me laugh, some people saying it's gonna be like Cotto-Jennings and some people saying it's gonna be like Cotto-Margarito. I guess that really goes to show how little we know about Yuri Foreman. One thing we do know for sure is that Cotto will be well and truely in there on his own if he still has Santiago in his corner.

This is a good fight for Foreman for a lot of reasons. Cotto is moving up in weight, again, he will be the much smaller fighter. Foreman just got his first victory at the elite level, just got his first belt and is probably more confident and motivated than ever. Cotto has been through the ringer, since the Margarito fight he hasnt been the same, the Clottey fight didnt do him any favors, and Pac put it on him bad the last time out. Physically and mentally he isnt quite what he used to be.
All of that said, Cotto wins, TKO. Beat up, older, smaller, bad corner and all Cotto is still an elite fighter. At the end of the day, Yuri Foreman just isnt good enough. As other posters have stated Yuri also has a style that Cotto matches well with.

Steward can't put power into his hands, unless he loads his the gloves. That's the only way it's going to be Margarito all over again.

The other thing that Foreman gains with Steward is sparring with quality partners. When you have a known trainer with a good stable of quality fighters you can only benefit. Too bad Cotto has not employed a good trainer which might make a great difference in his future fights

I have to admit, I don't know enough about Yuri, to feel confident about the outcome ( he did not make an impression during his outing with Santos). But, Cotto in the eyes of many is easy pickings. Perception is reality and right now, Yuri has to feel very confident and that is the one edge him might need to beat Cotto (I don't even know if I should write "upset Cotto").

The point is that right now, the perception is that Cotto, is not a dedicated boxer (I keep hearing from PR that he likes to party, drink and go clubbing), he is not mentally ready (Margo, Clottey, Pacman), he has an amateurish corner (Santiago did not radiate a great deal of knowhow and expertise) and he will be the smaller guy come March 12.

Now... maybe I just think that Cotto should have taken more time off, or maybe come back with a softer opponent (hell, maybe he knows somehting we don't therefore will dazzel us during the fight), but the fact is that he is no spring chicken and at his level Talent along can guarantee a victory.

I'm a Cotto fan, but right now I would like to see some changes.... an addition to his corner will be a great start.
