The usual is the 1-2.....but be sure to have the variations, have the 2-1 also. After the straights, then add the hooks and uppercuts. (3-4-5)
Then lead uppercuts (with the lead hand or rear hand) and crosses. (5-3-4)
But I would rather start with the right footworks then in conjunction with the combos.Comment

Go watch Ricardo Lopez and Juan Manuel Marquez (especially his fight against Terdsak Jandaeng). Both threw some of the most amazing combo's I've ever seen. You can learn a lot from these guys.Comment

Lead uppercuts are not something you should be telling a dude that's just starting out to start doing. The usual is the 1-2.....but be sure to have the variations, have the 2-1 also. After the straights, then add the hooks and uppercuts. (3-4-5)

They are about the easiest punch to counter if you lead with it just a little bit wrong, and if you get caught, you get KTFO.Comment

Depends on how it's done....all I am saying is that he would practice from the usual 1-2 and move on to variations of leads instead of the predictable 1-2.
The hooks and uppercuts can be added later as "leads" and notice I put:

Punches without footworks would lead any boxer to being countered easily.Comment
