Ferguson was a career journeyman who managed to get a title shot after he upset Ray Mercer, the guy wasn't a bad fighter or anything but he was a journeyman. Mercer was supposed to fight Bowe for the title but ended up losing to Ferguson so Ferguson ended up with the shot, Bowe destroyed him.
