    Jesse Ferguson

Just watching tyson raw and uncut on espn classic and saw his fight with Jesse Ferguson for the first time. Thought he looked alright, had a fast jab, and could take a (few) good shots. (Fight was stopped with Ferguson on his feet)
Looked him up on Boxrec to see who else he had fought as he looked tough, this dude had one tough career, fought:

    Buster Douglas (W)
    Tyson (L)
    Oliver McCall (L)
    Bruce Seldon (L)
    Tony Tubbs (L)
    Ray Mercer x2 (1W1L)
    Riddock Bowe (L)
    Frank Bruno (L)
    Larry Holmes (L)
    Hasim Rahman (L)
    Andrew Golota (L)

That an impressive list of HWs to fight in a career, even though he lost most of them.
Anyone see his other fights? Did he give any of them good fights or was he just a journeyman fed to good HWs for an easy win?

Just youtubed the Bowe fight, he took 10x more punishment from Tyson and was able to take it (well he got ****ed up by an uppercut but got back on his feet). First decent shot Bowe landed floored him, and he got saved by the bell only to get sparked out at the sart of round 2.

That fight was a complete mismatch, Bowe should of been ashamed of himself for taking that fight as well, his fight with Dokes was also seriously shocking. If I remember correctly Jessie was disqualified in the Tyson fight for excessive holding, that Tyson uppercut really busted up his nose. It was later changed to a ko to hype up Tyson's record.

according to the espn show i watched the commentators intially thought it was a DQ, but they interviewed the officials and they said it was a TKO, it was a bit strange alright.
Going by the order of fights he had, he must have got the Bowe fight cos he beat Mercer.
Maybe Mercer was lined up as an opponent and because he lost they fought the guy who beat him instead? Not sure. Maybe someone who was paying attention to what was going on at the time can fill me in.

It was a elimination match and the winner was going to fight Bowe, neither of them were mandatories for Bowe's belt, so it was a case of a voluntary defense, Bowe should of just fought Lewis back then I'm sure he could of beat him.

yeah i know, but i was surprised how well he took his shots. That uppercut ****ed him up, but he got back up (I dont think many HWs could have from that shot).
He had a good jab, and although he didnt have Tyson in trouble at any time managed to frustrate him by staying in there with him (Tyson had a dig at him after the bell).
Was shocked when i looked him up and saw how many of the top HWs of the 90s he had fought.

the quality of the video wasnt great, but it looked like Bruno rabbit puched Ferguson to death in 1 round!
