By respect I assume you are referring to the fighter's boxing skills.
Because if you are referring to respect overall for the person, I don't think you'll get favorable votes/responses for Mayweather.
I think everyone in these boards, even the haters recognize the fact that Floyd is a great boxer. The problem is his personality coupled with his choice of fights in the welterweight division makes it difficult for him to get liked by most people, particularly those who never saw his fights in the lower divisions. There are other boxers who are just as bad, if not worse than Floyd's persona, (Tyson comes to mind and Ali to some extent), but the difference is those other boxers, Dela Hoya included, have proven that they'll take on anyone.
You have to understand that these boxers are risking their health everytime they fight. That alone deserves respect. Some fighters go so far as fighting the more dangerous opponents. That's what garners the most respect from majority of fans.
Floyd's choice of JMM, a lightweight who jumped 2 divisions to welter against PBF in which we saw Floyd not honor the stipulated catchweight, did more damage to the public's perception of Floyd. Same with Oscar when he chose to fight Pac back then. He was ridiculed for taking on a smaller opponent and even more so when he lost, and Oscar has paid for it by retiring. Overall however, Oscar's resume is better than Floyd's and no one can say that Dela Hoya ducked fighters who were a threat. He had losses, but that's what happens when you fight the best fighters available.
In closing, yes I respect Floyd, I'd be a fool not to. But taking into account the competition they had, I respect Oscar more than I do Floyd. That can still change though because he's still active.
