How do you feel about Floyd comparing himself to great social leaders like Martin Luther King and Malcolm X?

Floyd is promoting himself and his fights. He is saying whatever he needs to to get attention and promote himself. Regardless of what you think of him, his "act" is working a hell of a lot better job at it than Arum's promoting skills did in the years he fought under Arum's banner. What Floyd is doing is the equivalent of what the bad guys in professional wrestling do when they are on camera. They talk trash, they piss people off, they do all kinds of things to promote themselves (and it is no secret that the heels in professional wrestling have traditionally made the most money because of their popularity).

What Floyd is doing is no different than what Muhammad Ali did in the 1960s and 1970s. Most of the people on this site are too young to remember Ali in his prime but I saw him fight in the 70s and I remember his constant self-promotion and Ali would say just about anything and piss people off left and right. Ali is well-loved now, but back then he was as hated as Floyd Mayweather is today by the media, fans and other boxers.

People say he has no credibility about the Steroids situation, but then pick and choose when he's making a serious statement, and can't read hyperbole?

Its funny how Floyd gets a pass for saying the dumbest, most ignorant and insulting things but when Pac interviews, he gets ****ted on by Floyd fans. The man can barely speak English and is considered ignorant of American social norms, even by Filipinos. As an older black man, I'm appalled at Floyd comparing himself to MLK and Malcolm X. Young brothas don't seem to understand what these men did for our people, and to compare himself to them is a travesty. He's an ignorant, uneducated, and arrogant little punk who will say or do anything for attention. He gets no pass from this African American.
