Has it? In the late years, it seems like that title doesn't mean the best, most skilled boxer. Now, though, it seems like that title relies more on a boxer popularity, earnings, etc. What do you think? Or do I misunderstand the term "Pound For Pound"? As far as I know, it's the value of a fighter compared to other fighters in different weight classes.

dont think so manny is the best pound 4 pound in my opinion but if a mayweather fan said floyd was i couldnt really argue because they are the two best and usually the rest of the 10 are their also their on ring abilities

good post. i've been thinking this a lot. i don't feel like people are really using the pound for pound rankings the way they are supposed to be.

P4P still have the same meaning. Arguements right now is whether it belongs to Manny or Floyd - Best boxers on the planet. Title hasn't changed.

Of course it has changed, they're Power Rankings now.

It's what have you done lately and how impressive was it, not just how great your skills are.

Its meaning has never changed, but a lot of people here try and twist the meaning of it to shoehorn the fighter they follow into a higher position than is maybe realistic.

No. People are only saying that because they hate on Floyd and say he hasn't done anything, which is wrong.

Who deserves to be p4p king right now more than Manny? Nobody. Who deserves to be #2 more than Floyd? Mosley hasn't fought in over a year and B-Hop hasn't done anything since beating a blown up Pavlik. After them are Marquez, whom Floyd just beat.

Who deserved to be p4p king more than Floyd when he was #1? Mosley lost to Winky Wright twice and Cotto, Cotto got KO'ed by Margo, P.Will lost to Quintana and the only person near Floyd was Manny and JMM, but Floyd deserved it more at the time.

Who deserved it more Mosley at his time? He moved up two weight classes and beat DLH.

Who deserved it more than B-Hop at his time? 11 title defenses in his 40s.

Who deserved it more than RJJ at his time? He was undefeated (only loss was by disqualification) and he dominated the HW division.

Who deserved it more than De La Hoya at his time? He KO'ed JCC twice, prime or not and beat Vargas twice.

So who was p4p king and didn't deserve it???
