Are 5 to 7 pounds a big difference in weight?? Cause everyone is asking if Winky will have problems on that weight. Also Oscar said he would like to fight Tito at 154 but Tito said he would only fight at 160 against Oscar.

It can be, I think the jump from 154-160 is a case of where it can be. Because if you have to come up you will probably make weight and come in around the same weight. But for a natural 160 pounder you will probably make the weight and balloon up to around or past the 170 mark.

so ur saying a natural 160 would probably be around 170 on a regular basis and a 154 would have to gain weight to make 160

5lbs-7lbs would make very little difference in a heavyweight fight, but at featherweight it would make a HUGE difference.

For example when a middleweight makes the 160lb limit, they train and train months before at about 170lbs-175lbs and then with a week to go before the fight, they slow the training down a lot and start to boil down in weight. On the day of the weigh-in they start to dehydrate themselves and at exactly weigh-in time they come in and blip just under 160lbs on the scales. They then go off drink loads and loads of water, eat loads of pasta and steaks and actually come into the ring the next night at around 170lbs-175lbs.

There's nothing unfair about doing this because the other guy is doing exactly the same thing.

But you can see that if a guy who usually fights at 154lbs is playing these games, on the actual fight night he's gonna be naturally the smaller man probably weighing at 160lbs-168lbs compared to the other guy at 170lbs-175lbs.

I think it would be more of a difference with De La Hoya then Winky. Oscar is a natural 147 so he would be moving up 13lbs not jus 6 (154 to 160) Oscar looked fat and outta shape when he weighed in at 160 so thats another reason i think he wont fight tito at 160.

what i dotn understand is why winky would wanna be 160- the min for middle is 155 right so all he would haev to do is gain a pound right up from 154?
