Amir Khan vs Paulie Malignaggi

HBO by KO...
In reality though, I'd say Khan could cruise to a UD against Malignaggi. Malignaggi punches (probably) won't have an effect on Khan (however, Khan's chin is bad so they actually might) and he could just use his speed and skills to unleash combos on Paulie all night long. Hatton had a easy time with Paulie and whilst he has now got a new trainer, I don't think the difference will be that great to beat Khan, especially with Roach in his corner coming up with a good game plan.
But I definitely don't see a KO in this match up, Malignaggi doesn't have the power and he has a good chin. Maybe a TKO if Malignaggi isn't throwing anything back, but still, I reckon it'll go to the cards.Comment

Paulie may be fast, but he is not as fast as Amir.
Paulie has looked **** VS tough guys who aren't great.
Paulie has lost to Hatton badly and Cotto made his face look like a pizza (Thank you Wlad)
Paulie hits soft indeed, and his right hand is almost irrelevant.
Paulie has decent footwork, but he is not great at counter punching.
Paulie is a boxer, but you have to be pretty easy to hit, have little defence or come forward for him to box your ears off.
Paulie is damn tough, and has heart.
Paulie has a mouth that may upset a fighter.
Juan Diaz was never that great, Campbell proved it and Diaz has looked **** since facing better people. That's why I don't think he is actually better under a new trainer.
Amir has fast hands, not always accurate but he's fast enough to hit anyone in range.
Amir has a weak chin, but I doubt Paulie will hurt him.
Amir has the power advantage and size.
Amir has poor footwork sometimes, but fast.
Amir has a top trainer and is learning every fight or when he spars.
Amir is hungry to prove himself, and Paulie is soft fisted enough for him to go all out attack.
Amir's defence is getting tighter, which has always been a problem, that will ofcourse help protect his chin.
As to who will win? I am backing Amir on this one, but Paulie is a totally different style and quality to anything he has faced.
I don't think Paulie can deal with guys who have a speed advantage over him or decent pop.
So I give Amir a good chance to beat Paulie and will take bets if it happens.Comment

I've been watching Khan since he turned pro, and I still feel that he is yet to actually fight someone I would classify as 'good.' Paulie will be by far his toughest test yet, but I think Amir will win by TKO.
I always get the feeling Khan can actually end a fight at any moment purely with his overwhelming speed. Almost every KO on his record has come this way, albeit against poor opposition. I think Amir can manage a stoppage against Paulie but who knows, it could go either way.Comment
