Hey boxing fans, support the sport. Not just a fighter or the leeches that promote them.

both fights will be great. I don't see any reason as to why a "boxing fan" should avoid any of these fights...

I think boxing fans can use sound judgment to improve the sport. If both fights do very bad than the message is sent about the issues of ducking, drug testing, and politics. Its not healthy for a sport to be run by two major promotion companies and that monopoly has to break up. I rather support Dibella or Goosen even with their faults over Top Rank and GBP. I do want better drug testing and fighters willing to fight the best. I supported both Pac and PBF before. But if we just blindly support them than they will take our money for granted and do as they please.

The die hard boxing fan is a dying entity. I like any true boxing fan want to see the sport florish and do records at the gates and PPV. But the sport should do several things. 1) make it easier for smaller promotion companies to compete to keep away the power consolidated by a few 2) Have new reasonable random testing- not olympic but atleast something similar to what the CSAC uses maybe 2 random blood tests before a fight, 3) Keep PPV prices 49.95 or lower and 54.95 for HDTV, 4)Promote fighters who are willing to do fight all people, 5) try to have more tournaments to unify titles.

If the sport of boxing can fix some of those issues than the long term of the sport will be in better shape. Yes, like people have mentioned there is now the olympics, march madness soon, NBA, NHL, and MLB will start spring trainning soon.

            This is ridiculous.

Top Rank PPV's= Essential to boxing. How don't people get this?

Those are relevant, small time fight that would have no way of being televised if not for Arum putting them on PPV's. As far as I'm concerned, he's actually doing a service to the sport with those shows.

No one's making anyone buy them. But they are available to those who do want to see them. Does it suck that they're PPV? Sure. But it's better than it being impossible to see the fights at all.

I doubt he makes much off of those shows. I wouldn't be surprised if he lost money on a lot of them. He gets backed into a corner. If no networks want to put up enough money for a fight, instead of him saying, "Oh well, no television for this fight", he does something about it.

It's the one thing that I can actually praise Arum for.

It's a decent main event with a trash undercard. Soto, David Diaz, Alfonso Gomez, JL Castillo, John Duddy, Michael Medina!?!?!? Other than Soto, nobody there has an actual future and from polls done before Top Rank has the best ****ing stable.

This old f aggot had the nerve to say that he knows what we want (Gamboa-Lopez), but we can go **** ourselves.

Fuck him. If you have a problem with giving Mayweather your money... How the fuck do you not have the same problem giving this geezer your money?
              I disagree that Pac/Clottey is a mismatch.

But I agree with you about the undercard and the choice for Soto. He should be fighting Valero not David ****ing Diaz.

I'm definitely buying Pac v Clottey. it'll be an amazing and entertaining fight.
anway, gamboa and lopez will happen.. not now though. you gotta let it sizzle and make it a bigger fight, a bigger event. that's why I'm not trippin over it because I know eventually it will get made.

Brotha, you might be forgeting, but it looks like Valero just gave birth from his forehead. Ali Funeka is probably ready though.

                    Arum is a greedy mother****er.AGREED
But so is Don King,Sauerland(Valuev 60-40)and Oscar(sold JMM his mexican bro to Floyd like a whore in a joke of a mismatch)and most of promoters.

Clottey is a top 5 WW(one of the best division in the sport,if not the best).
How the **** a guy who fought JMM at 130 2 years ago is a mismatch for a tough big WW who can fight like Clottey,Josh ain't great but he can fight.

I hope you boycotted Floyd vs JMM,this fight was a true mismatch.

And Pacquiao is exciting,so if it's a mismatch,I guess it's because Manny is that great.

Tyson vs Tucker,Berbick,Spinks,Thomas were mismatches but I would have never boycott those fights.
By the way,Tyson vs Douglas was a mismatch so you never know what will happen.

Ridiculous thread from another bitter stan.
