    Another prospect comes up short

In San Jose, California, Jose Celaya failed to live up to the hype that his handlers generated. In a very exciting welterweight bout, Celaya was dropped once in the fourth, cut on his forehead and then knocked down twice in the eight round by James "Spider" Webb, leading to a technical knockout. Webb is now 18-0, and it looks like he didn't get the memo saying he considered record-building fodder for Celaya. Now 26-3, Celaya was in the IBF's top ten, but not in **********'s top thirty.

I am not saying to sound high and mighty...but from the first round, I kind of felt Celaya could easily lose the fight...from the opening bell he was pulling straight back...actually, not pulling straight back, but WALKING straight back...he was very passive with his defense and acts like he is not concerned that his opponent is swarming him...he also looked very off balance from the opening bell when he threw power punches...

as the fight progressed, it seemed he could last a not so spectacular decision...but he was losing gas and get caught far too often...

for Friday Night Fights...that fight was a very very good one...

again, my roomate who watches FNF with me on occassion misses one of the good ones...it seems odd that every FNF show he sees, it is a bad fight/main event...and tonight he missed a good scrap...

Celaya's footwork was terrible. I believe that on two of his knock downs he was backpeddaling and got caught. He just didn't live up to the hype.
Sad thing is that we're both alumni from the same high school (in salinas)

The Chin Checkers will live up to the hype I hope. Curtis Stevens and Jaidon Codrington. They're from Brooklyn and they are showing some promise. For those of you with access, keep watching Broadway Boxing and watch these two. They're in an ideal division, 168, to do some real damage.

My pops used to do business with Celaya's former managers down in Gilroy CA, Celaya royally screwed his old manager and trainer, and now he's getting exactly what he deserves: beat-downs on national TV....I hope Celaya loses every pro fight he takes part in, because he's a thief and a liar and he deserves to get KO'd
