Ur right P. Williams should stay in his natural weight division, which in my opinion is 160. Pick on ppl his own size. Besides, if Mayweather fought him, it would be similar 2 his fight with Corrales. His speed, footwork, and precision would expose Williams. If Sugar Shane fought him, it would be similar 2 the Margo fight. Williams has a **** defence. Smaller guys like Quintana and Martinez could hit him, and they aren't on the same level as Floyd or Shane. The fact is the general public dont know who Paul Williams is, so why would any top welterweight fight him? Boxing is a business first, and most boxing fans should remember that! Peace

It's a big difference from Mayweather who forces midgets up to his weight.

Like I said he isn't breaking the rules but that doesn't mean I have to give him all of the credit in the world if he beats a considerably smaller man just because he made the weight and then blew up to over 160 the next day just like he did when he was at ww.

When a fighter is considered viable as a top MW and a serious threat to the champion there, it to me becomes unacceptable for him to fight opponents at WW anymore.

So Williams has to follow other rules than everybody else?

its cool he can starv himself and make weight but when he is 6 foot 2 **** he should come in no lower than 154 if i was 6 foot 2 i honestly would be light heavy or heavy maybe he is scared to take big shots from big dudes. but like the statement made earlier that welterweight average height is like 5'6 to 5'8 or 5'9 like de la hoya and margarito are considered tall at 5'10.

Pavlik ducked Williams. They were scheduled to fight in December, but Pavlik said he had a staph infection. But then he fought 2 weeks after he was meant to fight Williams... Punk!

He didn't duck the guy. He just wasn't ready by then. Pavlik wouldn't be looking for Williams afterwards if he was scared of him. Now he's fighting the guy that Williams should've given a rematch, but wanted no part off anymore because he was a real threat to him. So he pulls a Mayweather and waits for the two fighters he fears beat each other up just so he can pick a soften up opponnent.

He can do whatever he wants because he isn't technically breaking any rules but I don't have to like it, approve of it, or give him any credit for beating WWs.

So going by your thinking, Funeka, a 6'1 lightweight, and Caballero, a 5'11 jr. featherweight, should be fighting at 147?

IDK about Caba's FN weights but yeah when Funeka comes into fights at 154 he shouldn't be fighting at LW and has an unfair advantage regardless of the height which I never made any mention of at all.

But I guess it doesn't matter what I think because they are within the rules and will do whatever they want to do but as a fan I can think what I will of it.
