I think the height issue is only bought on by either haters or apologists. If they hate the fighter they make height and reach as an excuse. If they love them they will make apologies for them losing to the guy with the greater reach and height. Guys like Hagler, Dempsey, Marciano, Tyson and many others beat much taller fighters with greater reach.

Agreed. But some bring up height when its not an issue. For example, people talk about the slight height advantage that Benitez had over Duran as an issue. Yet Benitez stayed in the ropes staionary willing to allow Duran to fight him in the inside. But they dont bring the height issue or reach issue when Duran beat taller guys like Buchanan and Barkley.
