Yes it happened to a guy who was hit by pro boxer Gary Delaney at a night club. Gary did not hit him hard but when he fell he fell onto a solid floor and the drop killed him. I spoke to Gary about it at the Pea**** gym while he was awaiting trial. He said he did not hit him hard, his words were I only tapped him.
God yes, if any competent boxer hit you it could result in tradgedy.
A kid at my school got knocked unconscious and had his braces jammed into his gums from a punch yesterday, the kid who punched him has sort of dabbled in different fight sports but I don't think he is a serious fighter, plus he is only 16 and probably weighs around 145-50lbs.
So if a kid who isn't a man yet and not really a serious fighter can do that kind of damage, a good fighter (esp. a HW) could definitely do the same if not worse. Of course it all depends on circumstances and the individuals, but the possibility is there.
That's why you don't often hear about top pros in streetfights, they know to stay out of that ****, because they know the damage they could do, and it could put their careers in jeopardy.
There was some article on here a while back about some Euro 130lber involved in some sort of altercation at a nightclub with a few guys, and one dude was left in a coma or in a bad condition in hospital or something of the like.
There is a fight science tv show, where the show the PSI or something of that nature of a boxers punch... Its enough to cause some damage, but most likely a KO punch probably doesn't have that high of risk of brain damage, cause look at how many people get ko'd by a punch in MMA and boxing and don't have brain damage, %85 is a very high number, alot of guys get knocked out several times without brain damage...
most KO punches are on the button though, not a punch that throws the brain crashing against the back of the skull causing any sort of swelling or bruising though...
Perhaps it depends on what kind of punch, how and where...
OBVIOUSLY the bigger risk is the crashing to the hard floor.
