Maybe RJJ and Hatton should read this.

Personally I feel that they are the ones who have to step in the ring and risk it all, so only they can decide when its time to walk away.

Just read this story and found it really sad and would hate for it to happen to two of my favourite boxers of all time

The Story is a grim reminder of what can and does happen to our heros and villians in the sport we love so much. Its sad that he kept on fighting. Boxing is like a drug for alot of fighters, especially those that get the high of a title fight, it can keep you hanging on long after you should, looking for that cinderella man moment.

I'm not so much worried about hatton, i'm a little worried about RJJ, but generally fighters of that level, that get that much exposure, get stoppages fairly early. Whereas some of these smaller fights with less than capable refs continue long after they should. I used to get angry when fights got stopped, but as i've gotten older i find myself more often screaming at an incompetent ref to stop the fight, than bitching about bull**** stoppages.

The disgrace here are the people who passed him fit to fight when he had lost so many and been knocked out so many times.

The guy had 79 losses, not exactly the same bracket as Ricky Hatton and Roy Jones Junior, god knows how many of those 79 came as a result of KO. On top of that the article infers he had a drink problem and alcohol isn't exactly good for the brain.

Hatton and RJJ are taking risks, as every fighter is but this article holds little relevance to their situation imo.
