Khan will never fight Valero . It is totally at odds with his career so far. Valero is too big a puncher. Despite Valero not being well known in the UK Khan Valero would sell tickets. Showing Valero highlights in the build up would deal with that. The Prescott KO is not a distant memory. There would be huge interest in the fight but there is no way Roach and Khan's promoters especially if it were Warren would want the fight.Comment

DLT, It is not clear if Golden Boy would handle UK promotions. I think there is an understanding that warren will handle any UK deals. That would fit because warren always tears into fighters that leave him slagging them off. With Khan he has been quiet which makes me think he is holding out hope that he will do business again.
The Maidana back off deal is for 3 fights or a year. He won't be fighting him next. Khan's chin is not up to scratch. They won't be fighting Maidana untill the 3 fight or year deal is over if ever. I don't know how to do the bet thing on this website but I am happy to bet any amount that Khan won't be fighting Maidana in the next 3 fights.Comment

Thats right, I heard someone on here say that **** yesterday and I was shocked. Is that **** serious? What kind of deal was it? They payed Maidana off or something? I never heard about it until yesterday. That sucks if true. The only way I would give him a pass on that **** is if he fights someone else just as threatning nextComment

nevermind, I remember seeing that 12 month thing but was it proven to be true or could it still just be a rumor? Im not sold on it but either way there are a ton of good other fights at 140 and unless GBP goes insane, I think people could probably live with the guys they put him in with. Besides, after Paulie pretty much everyone else in the division has a solid punchComment

DLT, The deal is for Maidana to not fight Khan for 3 fights or a year. In the mean time they will most likely match Maidana with good boxers with good chins so he gets beaten. The first of these is Cayo . Once he is beaten there will be no Khan fight. The spin that they are building the Khan Maidana fight up this way is bull****. I don't know how the deal was struck to get Maidana to sell himself short but I would be a combination of stick and carrot. Golden Boy leveraged HBO to offer TV time and my guess is there would be back off money. I also strongly suspect that the Marquez Khan fight was a red herring from the get go to disguise and divert attention from the seedy Maidana duck. Marquez is with Golden Boy it seems odd he only got cold feet about Khan AFTER Maidana was tied up. But when you see this level of back room dealing to avoid a puncher I think it is safe to say there is a policy in place to keep Khan away from big hitters for as long as they can and there are no bigger hitters than Valero.Comment
