Comments Thread For: Paul Williams Welterweight Return May Happen on May 8

If Mayweather can get by Mosley and Pac ducks, runs, and dodges blood tests because he's scared of needles/blood again and only wants to fight in court, one can only hope Mayweather fights PWILL and leaves Pac hanging to fight lesser fighters yet again.
ALL roads lead to Mayweather, like it or not. Reason I believe PWILL is coming back. Sergio Martinez schooled his ass and showed him that its wise to move back down.
I'd rather see Mayweather vs PWILL fight than May vs Pac, its more of a threat and challenge.
Haters said Floyd wouldn't fight Mosley.... I hope people say that same shyt about PWILL....Last edited by WESS; 02-11-2010, 06:56 PM.Comment

I'm gonna start this off by saying Williams is a good fighter, an exciting one and I'm a fan
but this whole thing he and his team have of marketing him as the most feared WW is BS. You have to remember that this guy is anywherre between 6"1 and 6"3, challenging natural welters is easy to do at that size.
Mosley is 5"9, Floyd 5"8 and Pac 5"6 <------ There is nothing brave about challenging guys that you have such a big physical advantage over, if you add in the fact that he throws thousands of punches relentlessly you realsie that he would be favorite against all teh best welters
When I look at him i see a JMW or MW who can make welter, not a natural welter. I would like to see him at 154 or 160. Thats where the most interesting fights are for him. That Pavlik fight would have been interesting plus there's a little bit of unifished business with Martinez, he can fight the winner
In summary,he is a 6"3 welter, there's nothing brave about him challenging these 5"8 guys. I know its a weigh class not a height class bla bla bla but there is still nothing brave about that. Its no reason to applaud him. With that said challenging the cash cows make financial sense so fair enough. You wont ever hear me accuse any of the top welters of ducking him, fighting him makes no sense, or dollars.Comment

His career has already been shortened. Every fight since that Quintana fight he's had cuts on both eyes. (except for the Andy Kolle fight that guy was a bum). If he can still make welterweight then let him go for it. He's going to be starving to make that weight again.Comment

SSM, the guy who gets to fight pbf after beating the guy PW beat with possible loaded gloves.
Pacq won that belt from cotto who secured it in another vacant title bout vs jennings. A title formerly owned by who?
But all that is mere coincidence?Comment
