Spadafora rejected for boot camp!
Pennsylvania Department of Corrections officials have decided that unbeaten former IBF lightweight champion Paul Spadafora will not be allowed to attend a six-month boot camp instead of serving prison time. Spadafora received 21 months to five years for shooting his girlfriend, but the sentencing judge had recommended that Spadafora attend a special boot camp, which would have had the former champ back on the streets by the end of 2005. If Spadafora completes the violence-prevention program he can choose to reapply for the boot camp in December, but in any event it doesn't look like he will be able to return to the ring until mid-2006 at the earliest.
